Who chooses an unattended cremation & why

By No Comments

There are generally 2 reasons why someone chooses an unattended cremation.

  1. They don’t want all the fuss and ceremony that comes with a traditional funeral service,
  2. They don’t want to pay $10,000 for a traditional funeral

Whether it is the decision of the person who is dying or their family members making arrangements on their behalf, it is critical to honour their wishes and provide them with the service they choose while remaining respectful of their wishes.

While most family members understand the value of not squandering hard-earned funds on an expensive funeral when less expensive options such as Dignified Cremation cost only $1190, they may feel they are not doing enough to say goodbye to their loved one. While this can be a source of contention during funeral planning, it’s critical to listen to all parties involved and treat the situation with respect.

In these situations, we normally recommend that after you get the ashes, you arrange a meeting of family and friends and hold a personal memorial service where the ashes might perhaps be scattered and loved ones can pay their respects.  This can take place in your house, garden, park, beach, or even a favourite club or lookout – anywhere where everyone can share stories and pay tribute to the departed.

When it comes down to it, the choice is yours and your loved ones’. Focus on making something personal, welcoming, courteous, and, of course, dignified.

Our staff are always on hand to offer suggestions and advice whenever you may need it, to ensure that you can let your loved one go in dignity.
